Tawama has faced many challenges throughout her life. Through addiction, homelessness, and health complications causing her to lose her job, Tawama knows she is still blessed and remains hopeful.

Tawama has visited DESC for clothing and food, but is most thankful for the work boots she was able to receive. She says they allowed her to get her foot in the door in a new career, and have given her the confidence to keep climbing to the top.
