DESC is excited to announce that we have elected our officers for 2022 — Pamela Prier (retired from Merck) is Board Chair, Claude Moulton (with Claude R. Moulton, PA) as Vice Chair, Trista Carraher (with the City of Jacksonville) as Treasurer and Deborah Pierson (retired from Bank of America) as Secretary.
We have also added new directors to the Board — Gabrielle Bellamy, Pierson, L.M. Roziers and Juanita Senior.
Bellamy is the Missions Coordinator for Mandarin United Methodist Church. Pierson has held multiple board positions before with LISC and United Way of Northeast Florida. She is retired from Bank of America. Roziers is the President of the Mitch22 Foundation and is retired from the Duval County Public Schools. Senior is active in community gardening.
DESC is grateful for those who have accepted officer positions and for the addition of new directors. We are excited to see how our new leadership will continue helping those in need.
DESC seeks to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ by providing basic needs for those in emergency situations or experiencing poverty. The center is accessible on Ocean Street in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church and provided nearly 7,000 households with food, clothing, financial assistance and case management in 2021.
